My quickest FO to date..

I want to first thank everyone for all of their kind complements on my Nana's jacket. :) I am very pleased with the results and it was so nice to read all of your nice words. :)

This afternoon, I went over to Patricia's for a knitting/spinning/dinner party and I had such a great time. We got to spend some time with Judy and heard more about her trip to China/Taiwan/Philippines. We had a yummy appetizer with capers and smoked salmon and a wonderful dinner of homemade rolls, homemade jam, and a delicious casserole. It was so much fun. Thank you so much Patricia!
This morning, I saw this blog post and decided that I had to have one too. After work, I quickly stopped by Springwater to pick up some supplies (helped graciously by the wonderful Nina) to make this at Patricia's:

Pattern: "The Republic" pattern found here by Nik's Knits (pattern inspiration is from the Banana Republic Fall'06 line.)

Cost: $8! (not including needles)

Banana Republic's Cost: $48 plus shipping!

Yarn: Elizabeth Lavold's Angora (60% angora, 20% wool, 20% polyamide) 1 skein (barely)

Colorway: Peacock Blue

Needles: US 10 16" circular and US 10 DPNs

Time to knit: 3 hours

Verdict: Love this hat! It was so quick to make and it would be fun to play with different buttons. I will definately be making this again.

Good God, girl! You were serious about getting that hat done. It looks great. I can't believe it only took one skein. Oh yeah, IRYB :)

Well, that hat rocks -- thanks for the link! And Nik also has the Irish Hiking hat pattern on her sidebar, which I've been looking for, so I got a two-fer! Thanks! :-)

Me again. Just went to the Banana Republic site to look at their version of the hat. I'm a little suspicious -- in their description, they call it "wool/cashmere", but below that, they say it's "100% cashmere". I wonder....

In any case, I wouldn't buy it from them anyway -- I can knit it up for less!

I'm glad you liked my pattern, hon. And it looks cute on you :D
And thanks for helping to spread the word about it. There are many people who've downloaded it, and I'm sure you're partly responsible for that ;D

I'd love to post a pic of your finished cap. May I?

Looks great. I just looked at that pattern for a quick Christmas gift. Ended up making and even faster one, is that possible?
